Western hosted defending state champion and league leading Marshall on Tuesday night and lost 65-36.  The Redhawks got off to a quick start and led by 14 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 23 heading into halftime.

Although Western kept pace with Marshall offensively in the third quarter and fourth quarters, Marshall’s early lead proved to be too large to overcome.

Annie Tallman led the Panthers in scoring with 13 points thanks to a 6 for 9 shooting performance on the night.  Tallman also grabbed 4 rebounds and had 2 assists.

Olivia Rodriguez did a nice job on the defensive end and led the team with 7 rebounds.  Rodriguez also had 2 points and 2 assists.

Seniors, Noel Nagy and Riki Carroll each had 8 points and 2 rebounds.  Nagy also tallied 2 assists and a steal.

Brynn Kennedy led the team with 3 steals while also dishing out 2 assists and hitting a 3 pointer in the third quarter.

Sophie DeBacker finished with 2 points and 2 rebounds and Quinn Natschke had 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

Continuing their road through I-8 play, Western travels to Lumen Christi on Friday night to take on the Titans at 6:00pm.
