Weight-room Closed

Unfortunately due to the governor’s latest executive orders, the high school weight room, school gyms, and indoor track will not be available for use from Tuesday, November 17th – Wednesday, December 9th. Athletes are asked to workout at home or virtually with their current teams.

MS and HS Athletics Update

Per the MHSAA announcement on Sunday, ALL athletics grades 7-12, games, try outs, practices, have been suspended until December 9th. The only coach-athlete contact and activities for ALL sports is virtual communication and/or meetings. Capital Area Ice Skating!

The Capital Area High School Figure Skating Team is ready to start the 2020-2021 season and Western High School will be well represented this season. 8th Grade B Boys Basketball Defeats Hastings!

The 8th grade B team got off to a quick start last night and cruised to victory against Hastings, 54-5.  The entire team played scrappy defense and several players had multiple steals. The Panthers were led by Justin Chapko with 12 points, 2 steals and 1 assist. Zayd Coats added 8 points, 12 steals, 1 rebound,

7th Grade B Boys Basketball Defeats Hastings!

The 7th grade gold team opened the season with a 47-21 victory over Hasting on Thursday. Ty Wilelenga did a great job leading his team and passing to his open teammates. 7th Grade A Boys Basketball Defeats Hastings!

The 7th grade “A” boys basketball team opened the season at Hastings with a 44- 22 win.  The Panthers multiple trapping defensive schemes generated numerous scoring opportunities. The Panthers balanced scoring attack was led by Jayden Willis, Roarke Watterson, Gavin Barrett, Jackson Barnes, Cole Archer with 10, 8,6,6,6, points Respectively.  Bobby Hicks added 4 points
