Boys Junior Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Varsity Tennis vs. Vicksburg

Western High School boys tennis team hosted Vicksburg in what was supposed to be a tri-meet affair as Battle Creek Pennfield canceled and were not able to play today.
Western jumped out to an early lead as Landon Hollow improved his record to 8-1 after beating Mitchell Wilson 6-0, 6-2.  Western received some great play from their singles as Caleb Hurt and Timmy Mayotte also scored victories for the Panthers.  To round out the play, the number 1 doubles team of Jason Bills and Cory May outlasted Kyle Duke and Joshua Houtkoper in 3 sets, and our 3 and 4 doubles won in three sets.
I am most proud of how are guys are competing up and down the line up regardless of the outcome.  Tennis is a game of momentum and our guys are hanging around there long enough to have a chance to win in the end.  We are coming together as a team off the court which is strengthening our bond and resolve on the court.
Well done on a great win!
