The undefeated JV girls basketball team traveled to Marshall last night to take on an undefeated Redhawks team. The game proved to be very exciting as the Redhawks quickly jumped out on top of the Panthers to take the lead very early on in the first quarter. Even though the Panthers struggled to put together a solid offensive run and were completely out rebounded on both ends of the floor, they never gave up and fought hard to take home the win. The team came out of the locker room after their halftime break and played a much more aggressive game on both the offensive and defensive end to help ensure a Panther victory. Leaders for the evening were Lilli Luma with 11 points and an amazing 19 rebounds to give her a very solid double-double. Riley Kubiak contributed 12 points including two clutch three pointers to help extend the lead. Syd Siders added 8 points and 5 steals. Madi Barnes may have only scored 2 points, but she stepped in and had 9 rebounds as well as playing tough defense. Kyndall Lewis also played great defense leading the team with 6 steals and 2 big blocks.
Each member of the team played great and contributed positively to the win. Way to go ladies! We will be back in action next Tuesday night. Come out and support this up and coming group of ball players.
