On Saturday the boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Portage Invite against some of the best competition in the state. The varsity girls – Alyna Lewis (84th 20:24), Lilly Heydenberg (86th 20:28 PR), Olivia Hubbard (123rd 21:13 SB), Justice Prins (129th 21:18 PR), Abbey Dodd (137th 21:26 SB), Ella Bivens (169th 21:50 PR), and Kaelyn Pluta(194th 22:23 SB) – placed 17th out of 44 teams and 304 runners in the D2 race. The varsity boys – Jacob Singleton (39th 16:48), Hunter Hoffman (96th 17:43), Logan Coleman (140th 18:09), Keegan Sweeney (141th 18:09 SB), Ryan Nichols (192nd 18:47 PR), Evan Dodd (204th 18:53 PR), and Noah Brown (214th 19:02 PR) – placed 23rd out of 42 teams and 304 runners.
In the JV races, Cassidy Lammers (7th 21:18) and Chloe Embury (41st 22:35) medaled against a very competitive field. Sixteen other runners (Emma Reed, CeCe Poole, Alayna Czajkowski, Madison Trudell, Sidney Wilson, Mickey Tucker, Michael Rand, Zach Kubish, Dom Kestner, Logan Neill, EJ Pendergrass, Gage Parker, Connor Corry, Jude Olney, Mark Maul, Michael Pearson, and Will Kilmer) ran the best times of their careers.
