The WMS Cross Country team went to Pennfield to enjoy a beautiful but hilly course. The girls began the day that resulted in a second-place finish overall but were ousted from first place by Harper Creek. The boys followed up the meet by taking a third-place finish overall by a battle for 2nd place by missing 2 places against Harper Creek. The course, unfortunately, was marked short and resulted in skewed times for the teams present but the entire Panthers team looked strong and very well all could have set some personal records at this course. The team had some overall impressive finishes by Natalie Coleman(8th) taking 5th overall, JJ Lewis(7th) taking 11th overall, Avery Gillmore(7th) taking 12th overall, Franny Canziani(6th) taking 13th overall, and Chloee Tyler(6th) taking 15th overall. For the boys’ race, Cooper Singleton(8th) took first overall, Jeff Palmer(8th) took second overall, Wesley Learned(6th) took 13th overall, Seth Good(7th) took 18th overall, and Owen Baker(8th) took 22nd overall. The Panthers will look to pick up where they left off with their improvements on Saturday at Ella Sharp Park. Go Panthers!
