Panthers News · Thank You Letter to Senior Student Athletes

Thank you Seniors! Thanks for your dedication, commitment and desire to succeed throughout your high school careers. We are proud of all the goals and accolades the 2020 class achieved throughout your time as high school student athletes, but more importantly we are proud of you as individuals and how you have grown and represented yourself, your family and your school with class.

Unfortunately you will not have the same ceremonial send off that high school seniors typically have and the memories that go along with it. The game winning hit, your last serve in tennis, hearing your name announced and running onto the Panther Bowl for the last time, sinking a long putt, chasing a PR in track and field or chasing team goals within the I-8 Conference or the MHSAA postseason. Your last at bat, thrilling District win or the agony of defeat in your last game was taken away from you.

Your time as a student athlete has prepared you for your next adventures in life. The traits and skills you gained will be your foundation for success. Remember, once a Panther, always a Panther. We are always here to support you.

Parents, thank you for your support throughout the years. This is equally a trying time for you as you were hoping to see your athlete compete in their senior year. You did a great job raising fine young men and women who will continue to make the Western community proud for years to come.

This tribute is directed towards the spring sports athletes, but it is equally important to  reflect back on your entire classes’ career team successes (your class had individuals on varsity teams as freshmen, so all years are included)…
