Boys Basketball Information

Boys basketball meeting for all Freshman-Varsity prospective players Monday October 22 at 2:45 in the gym. Also, tryouts will be November 12-14.  Exact times and calendars will be given at the meeting.

26th Annual Gold Rush Raffle

  The Western Athletic Boosters Club is gearing up for the 26th annual Gold Rush Raffle!!!  It’s a fun night of dinner, dessert, raffles, bingo, prizes and more! Your ticket is entered into the drawing for $5000!  The top ten prizes are cash.       When: Saturday, November 3rd 2012   Time: 7pm  

JV Defeats Lansing Waverly

Last night we had a conference match and Western JV volleyball won 25-12,25-13 against Lansing Waverly.  Some of the highlights are:  Sierra Griffith and Cassidy Pluta each had 5 kills and Laura Holton had 14 assists and Cassie Robinson had 6 serving aces.  Great job!  Overall record is 15-13-4.

8th Grade Volleyball Defeats Lansing Christian

The 8th grade girls volleyball team won last night against Lansing Christian. Jena Holton led the team with three kills and Bethanie McGraw with two. Delaney Parshall also had two kills, along with eight aces. Great win ladies!

Varsity Volleyball Defeats Lansing Waverly

The Lady Panthers hosted Lansing Waverly and defeated them 25-16, 25-18 and 25-17. Both the offense and defense were out in full force this evening. They played very well as a unit and Alexa Pluta was 14 of 15 serving and 65 assists. Taylor Johnston was 12 of 12 serving with 3 aces. Libby Breton

7th Grade Volleyball Defeats Lansing Christian

The seventh grade volleyball team defeated Lansing Christian last night for their 4th victory of the season!  Olivia Rodriguez and Morgan Riggs were outstanding from behind the service line.  Olivia served 12 points and Morgan 11.  Other team members with serving points were Sarah Maynard with 7, Hadlie Hinojosa, Kerrington Curl and Hailey Cunningham with

Middle School Cross Country

Last night the western middle school XC teams did a great job. Gezaghen Starr won the boys 6th grade race followed in by his teammate Quinn Natschke who finished second overall in the girls race. Both the 6th grade boys and girls ran together and as a combined team beat Albion, Stockbridge, Leslie and albion.

JV Volleyball Wins Silver Bracket

This weekend the JV Volleyball team hosted our own 12 team tournament.  We started  out our pool play slow by losing to Union City 18-25,21-25.   However, we then went on to win against Portland 25-23 and 25-14.  We beat Columbia Central 25-18,25-13.  This gave us a 4-2 pool play record.  We were placed in the
